Prince Naguib Palace, Dahab Island

Getting to the Palace

Prince Naguib Palace sits on Dahab Island, in the middle of the Nile. When you arrive at the dock in Maadi, valet parking will take care of your car, and a boat will carry you across the river, a short and lovely 5–7 minute ride. Boats will run continuously before, during, and after the celebration.

If you’re taking a taxi or Uber, please make sure you are being dropped off at the boat dock address provided, not the palace itself.

Questions

Can I bring a guest?

We kindly ask that you keep to the number of guests and the names listed on your invitation.

What should I wear?

Formal attire: floor-length gowns for the ladies, and suits or tuxedos for the gentlemen. The celebration is outdoors on the grass, so we suggest avoiding very thin heels, or adding heel protectors. The evenings may get a bit chilly, so we recommend coming prepared with a shawl or jacket.

Where should I stay?

Closest, in Maadi (about 5–10 minutes)

  • Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi
  • Holiday Inn & Suites Cairo Maadi by IHG

Along the Nile in Garden City, Giza & Zamalek (about 15–30 minutes)

  • Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza
  • Hilton Cairo Grand Nile
  • Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at the First Residence
  • Sheraton Cairo Hotel
  • Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah
  • Novotel Cairo El Borg

Tips for guests flying in
  • Visa on arrival: bring US dollars in cash (~$35) to pay for your visa at the airport.
  • Local cash: withdraw around 2,000–3,000 Egyptian pounds (EGP) for getting around, as many Ubers and taxis don’t accept cards.
  • Getting around: Uber and other ride apps are safer and easier than street taxis.
